What is reiki or a Reiki Treatment?

What is a Reiki Treatment? Reiki is one of the most popular energy healing techniques found today. Reiki works with the life-force energy (“chi,” “ki,” “prana” or “qi”) of the body.

The Reiki treatment is a Japanese natural healing technique excellent for how to release stress and increase a natural state of relaxation. Through its approach, this modality simultaneously promotes natural healing.

Reiki treatments are performed primarily without hands-on touching (referred to as “laying on of hands”). The intention is to bring harmony to the body by balancing the flow of energy.

Reiki benefits

Reiki benefits not only the physical body, but also the mind and spirit.

A Reiki treatment is an excellent way to balance your energy and realign your chakras. Through this realignment, mental clarity will come about while your spirit is enlightened. As a bonus, you’ll also find yourself feeling wonderful.

A Reiki treatment may be just what you need if you are suffering from indecision, confusion or physical ailments. This is an excellent modality to use when your perception is altered or you’re feeling off track. It will help you move forward.

If you feel fabulous and are on the proper path in life, this beautiful treatment will only make you feel better!

Preparation for your Reiki session

Reiki, as indicated above, is not a hands-on treatment. Services are offered for either 50 or 80 minutes. The following is a general overview, however, each Reiki treatment will vary.

You will not disrobe for the Reiki session, but you will be lying on a massage table or similar. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing.

Your Reiki practitioner, or energy healer, may place crystals on or around the table. If so, these crystals will help absorb and purify the energies.

They may place items at your feet or ask you to hold something in one hand. These items will act as tools to help them perform to the level your body requires.

What to expect from a Reiki treatment

As your therapist begins moving over you, you will feel a wonderfully warm sensation enveloping you wherever they are working.

Remain open-minded and allow yourself to let go. Release control of the session.

An emotional response during a Reiki treatment is normal and expected. These emotions should be acknowledged and allowed to flow from you, creating a release.

Try to relax and allow things to take their course. The more you allow your emotions to flow, the more successful your Reiki treatment will be.

The goal is to remove energy blockages and release that which needs to go. How this takes place may include crying, yelling or simply talking through something you are experiencing. No matter how it happens, the result is to restore balance and harmony to that which needs to stay.

After a Reiki treatment and how often to have one

After a Reiki treatment, your practitioner will discuss your session with you. They will share whatever they picked up about you physically, emotionally or spiritually. Consider what they say and reflect on any areas that were pinpointed.

Often, this information will guide you to understanding where you need to make changes. It’s in your best interest to begin working now to ensure better health and positive energy flow.

If you’re going through a tough time, having Reiki often could be helpful. Consult your therapist as to how often. They may suggest a couple visits per week during a transitional period, and then backing off after you have come through it.

Otherwise, if all is well and good, a weekly or monthly Reiki session would be excellent. Consider it a maintenance program to keep your energy and harmony balanced!
